Pigman's Organic Produce Patch 2009 CSA FarmShare - Pigman's Organic Produce Patch is a 6 acre certified organce vegetable and berry farm located in the lush Nisqually Valley and operated by Jan and Dean Pigman. "We feature strawberries from June to September. We maintain soil fertility by using only natural fertilizers, adding lots of organic matter and rotating our crops. The beneficial insects are abundant and largely keep the pest species under control. We are celebrating our 20th year of selling organic produce at the Olympia Farmer's Market. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way for farmers and consumers to form a direct connection through the growing season allowing consumers to purchase directly from the producer each week whatever is fresh and current for that time of year. Early in the growing season customers buy a "farmshare" of the harvest to come Each week beginning June 4th continuing to October 18th, (20 weeks) you (the shareholder) will receive a large grocery bag containing a variety of fresh produce, along with a newsletter with a list of that week's produce, farm news, interesting tidbits and sometinmes delicious recipes. NatureWise Farm CSA - NatureWise Farm is a 10 acre historical homestead situated on a sunny plateau on Bald Hill Road SE, Yelm WA and adjacent to the source of Toboton Creek whose artesian waters flow through it. "We use only natural growing methods without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers to create fertile soil, nutrient-rich healthy food and to preserve the natural balance of our environment". Community Supported Agriculture enables small farmers to market their produce directly to the local community to support their local farmer. You purchase a CSA "share" at the beginning of the season to ensure a supply of fresh produce on a weekly basis.
